Privacy Policy

Overview of the Private Policy of GKL

GKL collects and keeps personal information upon the consent of the information provider or in accordance to related law.

The “Law regarding personal information protection of public entities” describes the regular rules regarding the management of personal information, and the personal information collected, stored and managed by GKL in compliance with the regulations of this law will be used legally and correctly to fulfill public work and to protect the rights and interests of the people.
Furthermore, GKL respects your rights and interests to request notification or correction regarding the personal information kept by GKL in accordance to the related law, and you may make legal appeals in accordance to the administrative appeal law upon violation of your rights and interests.

GKL’s privacy policy is explained below. The privacy policy is divided into “protection of personal information of homepage users” for the protection of personal information of users of the various homepages managed by GKL, and “protection of the personal information managed on a computer,” which applies to the management of personal information that is necessary for performing relevant tasks.

Protection of personal information on GKL homepage

This is the website of GKL. We thank you for using GKL homepage and we will explain the privacy policy that applies to the homepage. The privacy policy is based on the “Law regarding personal information protection of public entities” and the “basic guidelines for personal information protection of public entities.”

When you use the GKL homepage, the following information is collected and stored automatically.

You must be aware of the following factors regarding the selection of these methods.

Those who access or are provided with personal information through immoral or illegal measures may be subject to punishment in accordance to Article 23 of the “Law regarding personal information protection of public entities.”

Management and protection of the personal information managed on the computer
  • - Collection and storage of personal information
    GKL collects and stores personal information only in accordance to the regulations of the law and upon the consent of the information provider. The main file of personal information collected and stored by GKL in accordance to the regulations of the law is as follows. *The purpose and the grounds for storing information, the methods of collecting information, the articles provided, disclosure request department and address, articles with restricted disclosure and other personal information stored by GKL will be managed legally and correctly in accordance to related laws, and GKL will give its best so that the users’ rights and interests are not violated.
    - Restrictions on using and providing personal information
    Unlike with the regular administrative information, there is a strict restriction on using and providing the personal information collected and stored by GKL. The “Law regarding personal information protection of public entities” Article 10 (restrictions on using and providing information) states the regulations as below.

    · When the information provider or his or her legal agent is not able to make expressions of intent or cannot give consent because of unknown address and other factors, and it is deemed that it will be of a clear benefit to the information provider if the information is provided to a third party.
    · When the information is needed for criminal investigations and prosecutions.
    · When the information is needed for trial procedures of a court
    · When there are other special reasons as determined by a presidential decree
  • GKL will comply with related laws for using and providing personal information to prevent the improper use of information.
    - Requesting access and correction of personal information file
    The request to access the following personal information file may be made in accordance to the regulations of related laws such as the “Law regarding the personal information protection of public entities.”
    Procedures of the request for access (regarding the “Law regarding the personal information protection of public entities”)
    Access to the following articles may be restricted in accordance to the regulations of Article 13.
    * Information regarding taxation and tax collection or return.
    * Academic evaluations of schools or the procedures related to the selection of applicants
    * Work procedures related to evaluation or judgment, such as tests related to academics, skills and employment, qualification inspections and calculation of compensation money or grants.
    * Work related to inspections based on other laws
    * Work for preventing real-estate speculation related to land and housing
    * Work for preventing stock transactions that are unjust according to the securities and exchange law.
    - Assistance for violation of rights and interests
    Those whose rights and interests or benefits have been violated due to omission or execution of processes by the public entity’s president in accordance to the regulations of Article 12 (Access to information) Clause 1 and Article 14 (Correction of information) Clause 1 of the “Law regarding personal information protection of public entities” may make legal appeals in accordance to the administrative appeal law.
